What Actually Happens During an HVAC Maintenance Visit
A real tune-up is a documented inspection and service process — not a filter change and a sticker. Here's what a proper visit covers and how the VIP plan makes it automatic.

Maintenance has a reputation problem — too many homeowners have paid for a "tune-up" that was a filter change and a doorknob flyer. A real maintenance visit is a documented inspection and service process, and in the Central Louisiana climate it's the single cheapest way to avoid a July breakdown.
What a proper visit covers
- Cooling side: refrigerant charge checked against manufacturer spec, coils inspected and cleaned, condensate drain cleared (the #1 summer service call), capacitors and electrical connections tested, blower and airflow verified.
- Heating side: heat exchanger inspected, ignition and safety controls tested, gas connections checked, heat-pump defrost cycle verified.
- Every visit: thermostat calibration, filter service, and a plain-English report of what we found — what's healthy, what's wearing, and what can wait.
Why twice a year here
Our systems work brutally hard: months of high-humidity cooling, then winter cold snaps that catch neglected heat pumps and furnaces off guard. A spring cooling check and a fall heating check catch small problems while they're cheap — a weak capacitor today instead of a failed compressor in a heat wave. Well-maintained systems also hold their efficiency and last longer; neglected ones die young (see repair vs. replace).
The VIP plan: maintenance on autopilot
Our VIP Maintenance Plan packages both seasonal visits with priority scheduling and member benefits, so the tune-ups happen without you remembering to book them. It's the same philosophy as everything we do — protect the system you own before selling you a new one.
See what the VIP plan includes, or schedule a one-time tune-up if you'd rather start there.
